Don't be so quick discarding your inverter if it should stop working, they're fused protected but it takes a bit of work getting at them. Some fuses are soldered to the board while others are plug n play. Remove one end of the inverter, a couple of screws from the side of the case which also acts as the heat sink then the board slides out. What I'm looking for is blown fuses and bulging capacitors.
